The road to Harper’s Ferry

Made it to Keys Gap before evening and the thunderstorm hit, but did end up calling a shuttle to get me into Harper’s Ferry before the rain got really intense.

Was deeply confused when I ran across this sign—I thought I’d been in Virginia all this time.

But then, like a minute later, on the same road…

7 miles isn’t bad, I figure; it’s the longest distance I’ve walked on purpose so far for this trip—only the day when I got lost off-trail was longer.

And with that, I’m back at the motel we stayed at before we started, with the first big milestone down and 50 miles covered. I’m going to count it as a win, and enjoy the night.
